Testimonials

My daughter was really at rock bottom when she began her sessions with your therapist. She had a diagnosis of anxiety and depression which had been made significantly worse with the lockdowns. Her mental health was suffering and she had started hearing voices!! Your therapist was recommended to us and from the 1st session it was clear My daughter and the therapist were going to get on brilliantly.
Over their time together your therapist has given my daughter an impartial place to talk about her worries, such as moving house and changing schools as well as giving her strategies to help with her anxiety and the confidence to ‘find her own voice’ and speak up against situations she’s not happy about. Your therapist is very caring whilst also protecting the confidentiality of her client. I’m seeing more and more of my happy, smiling daughter and, without a doubt, this has been due in the most part to your therapist and their amazing way with people. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend your service to other families who are struggling.

As a family we cannot thank Creative Support for Vunerable Families and Children enough. We first contacted the charity in 2020 when our 9 year old daughter started having debilitating panic and anxiety attacks. We had never experienced anything like this as parents and we tried many things to support her at home, but her anxiety became so serious we needed additional support. A friend recommended the charity and first of all we had a telephone call to discuss our daughter’s issues and we arranged an initial meeting. In this meeting, the therapist made our daughter feel at ease and it was clear that she felt safe and comfortable, and was very keen to continue with the therapy. Within a short amount of time, she started to sleep better, eat better and became more able to cope with her anxiety. It also helped us all as a family to understand our daughter’s needs, and the strategies which helped her both at home and at school have been invaluable. Our daughter has regularly met with her therapist for 3 years now and looks forward to each session, she loves the arts, crafts, comfort, safety and freedom to express herself which the therapy provides. We would highly recommended the charity and commend them for the hard work they continue to do for local families. We are so grateful for everything they have done for our daughter.

Creative Therapy for Vulnerable Families and Children have been supporting my two children and I for the past seven months. The support the charity is offering us, isn’t limited to, or by time frames, but by my families needs, therefore the support is ongoing. My two children, who are ten and seven years old, and I, are personally supported by their therapist, a qualified psychotherapist, who supports us all individually and in different ways, and collectively supports us pretty much weekly. In the time we have been supported by the charity, our therapy has been led by our own creative strengths and our individual needs. The support and therapy has not been in pursuit of quickly getting to the route of any trauma we have all faced with a view to ‘fix us’ in the quickest amount of time possible, but with the patience, empathy and understanding that before any healing can take place, trust between ourselves and the therapist needed to be built, and with respect for the fact that our traumas are something not easily faced and healed within limited time frames. Aside from the actual therapy sessions, the charity has also provided us with a substantial array of art materials and books to use during our therapy sessions and as part of our recovery, supports myself at meetings, and through their contacts, has provided us with financial support towards the cost of living by getting us a grant towards our oil, a slow cooker, and more recently a refurbished laptop for my eldest son. More than anything, what I would really like to express, is the kindness and respect your therapist has personally shown both my children and I, since we have known her. I have experienced a lot of trauma in my life, and life can still be very challenging, I have felt very judged and let down at times when I have sort help previously. Your therapist has shown nothing but compassion and sensitivity, and offered nothing short of a caring and supportive hand throughout. It is by the charity’s goodwill, that our family have had the privilege to have been supported, and continue to be, in such an impactful way where I can testify that the support and therapy does make a huge difference to my own and my childrens’ lives.

After being diagnosed with cancer i was really struggling with my mental health and in and out of hospital. Your therapist supported me with Art, pictures and sending me kind messages to pick me up and help me be positive when i needed it the most. The support that your therapist gave me and my family really helped us all through a hard and emotional time. We are all very thankful. My daughter really enjoyed doing art therapy, it was a chance for her to have a break from any worries she may have had and enjoy some mindfulness. I would definitely recommend this service for people and families that need mindfulness and support through whatever struggling time they are going through.
